ACTING

Career Details

Put yourself in front of the camera and let your emotional creativity shine! Acting is a fun and challenging way to explore different characters while growing your confidence and inner sense of self. Actors can begin their careers at any age, it is never too early or too late to get started. Discover what is possible as bring imaginary worlds to life!​

Course Levels

This course is offered for all levels: kids, youth, explore, advanced and professional. This is an ongoing format class, which means it has no set beginning or end. You can continue to take classes until you and your teachers decide it is time for you to move up to the next level.

LEVEL: KIDS

  • Ages 7-11

  • 1.5 hours per class

​

LEVEL: YOUTH 

  • Ages 12-16

  • 1.5 hours per class

​

LEVEL: EXPLORE

  • Ages 17+

  • 2.5 hours per class

  • The explore level is open to first time actors, all beginners, and those who are curious to explore what acting is about

LEVEL: ADVANCED

  • Ages 17+

  • 2.5 hours per class

  • The advanced level is open to actors with some previous level of training, and those who are interested in pursuing it as a career

​

LEVEL: PROFESSIONAL

  • Ages 17+

  • 2.5 hours per class

  • The professional level is open to actors with previous working experience. An entrance interview is required.

  • How to take direction

  • Finding your emotional center & how to move away from it

  • How to read and prepare for your role

  • TV vs film vs theatre acting

  • Acting for social media

  • How to breakdown a scene and determine the character arc

  • Scene work (the actors can choose the type of scene they want to do)

  • When and when not to improvise

  • How to study the script

  • How auditions work

  • Creating a backstory

  • Finding your personal sense of self in your craft

  • Where acting fits in the bigger picture of the industry process

  • Voice and movement exercises

  • Emotional grounding & trust of your craft

  • How to maintain a healthy creative lifestyle balance (discipline, schedule, rent, etc.)

  • Professional development (expectations, behavior on set, maintaining connections, marketing yourself, how to say no to people [knowing when the answer is no and how to make as few people hate you as possible])

  • How to deal with social media content and feedback
  • What notes are, how to interpret them & how to deal with feelings of being attacked emotionally

  • Your support team (manager, agent, etc.) and tips how to grow your career

Previous Experience Required

No previous experience required for kids, youth, and explore levels. Some experience required for advanced and professional levels.

Registration, Orientation & Payment
  • Fill out the enrollment form here

  • You will receive an email with the next available date for your free orientation session. All students must attend their orientation session before they can begin classes.

  • Payments are made monthly

  • Pay only for the months you choose to attend. You are not required to pay for the full year.

  • €125/month for kids & youth

  • €195/month for explore, advanced, and professional

  • Students may attend up to two classes per week (max 10 classes per month)

Location

Classes are held in-person in Tirana, Albania. There is no virtual option.

Class Schedule

The exact dates and times of the classes will be chosen by the student during their orientation session.

Class Size
  • Up to 15 students per class for kids and youth

  • Up to 30 students per class for explore and advanced

  • Up to 20 students per class for professional

All classes are taught in English

PHILIP GILPIN, JR.

LIVES IN: TIRANA, ALBANIA

Born in Boston, MA, Philip started his 20+ year creative career at a young age making VHS movies as a child. He then began exploring theatre & film work while simultaneously earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics at Boston College.

​

After university, Philip moved to Los Angeles and studied acting at the esteemed Beverly Hills Playhouse. He learned the inner workings of the industry as a business affairs analyst at HBO where he worked on the business side of major series including “The Sopranos”, “Sex and the City”, and “The Wire”.

 

Philip has also served on the Board of Governors of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy Of Television Arts & Sciences.
