TV & film is a multibillion dollar industry. Yet, it is a new concept to most legal-minded professionals. It can appear to be risky and speculative, but also spectacularly lucrative if done correctly. How do you guide the process of formalizing arraignments that have no tangible physical property? Learn the basic elements of entertainment law for intellectual property (IP) in TV & film. Catalyst is NOT a law school. You will learn how to adapt your existing law experience into the world of entertainment.

Course Levels

This is a professional level class only. No kids, youth, explore, or advanced levels are available. This is a module format class with two levels required for completion:

LEVEL 1: BASIC CERTIFICATION

• This level has 8 classroom modules

• Each class meets once per week for 3 hours per class

• Total of 24 hours of class time to complete level 1

​

LEVEL 2: PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE

• An additional 50 days of field work on Catalyst certified productions is required to complete level 2 professional certification

Previous Experience Required

A law degree from an accredited institution in any aspect of basic law is required. Catalyst is NOT a law school. You will learn how to adapt your existing law experience into the world of entertainment.

There are no other prerequisite courses within the Catalyst curriculum.
